Last Day, Last Post

Well, we made it through our school visits - also known as the hardest day of Mme Katie's year.  There was laughter, warm hugs, and thoughtful cards and gifts.  It has been an exceptional year in our classroom.  I've been so amazed by this group of little learners.  It is difficult to say goodbye to such keen, kind, and resilient students. It has been my pleasure to spend this time with you all.  Good luck in Grade 1 and enjoy your summer!

P.S. Coco la chenille turned into a butterfly!  She grew with us for 184 days of school and now she's ready to fly on her own.

Daily Routine - le 31 mai FIXED

Hi kinders!! When I edit my videos, I put them in high speed to make it easier to review. Then I switch it back to normal speed. On this video, I forgot to switch it back!! I'm going to leave it up below because I've been told it's pretty funny. Here is the new normal version here:

Pumpkin Experiment

We had such a great time carving our pumpkins but they were starting to get soft and a little smelly. What a great opportunity for some pumpkin science! First, we talked about what was happening to our poor smelly pumpkin. The kids told me that he was rotting and soon he would just be a pile of mush. We filled our moldy, old pumpkin with garbage from today’s snack. I told them that we would be burying him in the dirt and digging him up in April (for Earth Day). I asked them what they thought would happen to him. They unanimously agreed that the pumpkin would be gone by then. Most of the kids also guessed that the garbage would be gone too. Sometimes science experiments take a long time ... we’ll check back in April.

Halloween Party

Our Halloween party was a little different this year but we did our best to still have some spooky, gooey fun.
